What is CBS MAP Explorer?
The app is designed for hikers and travellers who want to walk a certain route and want to know immediately what interesting things await them during their trip.
Planning trips by a paper map has its advantages, after all, no smartphone can be spread over the whole table.
But how do you find out what’s really interesting in the landscape shown on the map? What not to skip on your trip, where to be sure to stop?
You can Google every inscription on the map and find out what makes a place interesting. OR?
Or you can use CBS MAP Explorer and simply swipe your smartphone over the paper map.
Suddenly, you’ll see augmented reality.
All the points of interest along your planned route – natural and tourist attractions, landmarks, museums, shelters, villages, tourist services and other interesting information – will appear on the display. A place of interest will literally pop up from the map on your smartphone screen and when you click on it, you’ll see a photo, a description and a link to a video or website to learn more about the location.
You can filter by category and only see the spots you really want to see.
